Condo Kitchen Remodeling

It seems that everyone always gravitates to the kitchen and the cook. Just take a look around at your next get-together of family and friends and note where the majority of those in attendance gather -- the kitchen.

At the Lykos Group we understand the importance of having a kitchen that is functional, stylish and welcoming. Great spaces can be created in your kitchen no matter what the size. The Lykos Group has designed and crafted innovative uses of kitchen space in all types of condo kitchen redesigns -- from charming galleys to grand gourmet kitchens in which a top chef would be right at home. Some important things to consider when planning your kitchen remodel:

Work Flow
Does the space have the proper workflow? Are the sink, refrigerator, ovens and cooktops within easy reach of each other? Are the pantry and refrigerator near each other so that groceries can be unloaded and stored efficiently? These are the types of questions we consider when space planning, and if the answer is no, these are first things we address when redesigning a kitchen space.

Storage
Does your kitchen have ample storage space? This is perhaps the most common complaint that owners share with us about their current kitchen spaces. There are rather simple solutions to storage issues that we can provide that take advantage of all of the available space in the kitchen: recommending the maximum height upper cabinets allowed by ceiling heights; installing roll-out trays in place of base cabinet shelves; adding drawer organizers and pot rack systems, all of which can remedy storage problems in most kitchens.

Lighting
Inadequate lighting is a problem in many kitchen designs and one that can be remedied in a renovation. Many kitchens include single lights over the sink, stove and in the center of the room. An overall coordinated lighting plan that includes well-placed recessed lights for better overall illumination and work spaces properly outfitted with task lighting — such as undercabinet lighting and stylish pendant lights over islands and open counters —can greatly enhance your kitchen's functionality and appearance.

Design and Style
Rustic. Country. Old World. Modern. Eclectic. From contemporary to classic, the newest generation of kitchen appliances, cabinetry, counters and flooring offer so many available products that the selections can sometimes be overwhelming. But once you decide on the style of your new kitchen, The Lykos Group's Design/Build consultants are here to help you navigate the vast array of choices and make the best selections of products to perfectly fit your home's style and your personal taste.
