Does every remodeling job need a permit?
Building codes vary by city, county and state and the requirements vary, but a permit is usually required when structural work is being performed or when changing the living area of a home. A professional who works in your city or town every day will know to obtain local requirements. As a general guideline, the only remodeling jobs that do not require a permit are wall coverings, floor coverings and minor repairs.

What is the difference between a remodeler and a builder who decides to also do remodeling?
A professional remodeler devotes business operations to the business of remodeling homes. This experience means that:

• A remodeler understands how to work with existing structures.
• A remodeler understands how to complete a renovation as though the home were originally built the way it appears, not altered.
• A remodeler understands your concerns and fears about remodeling and knows what it's like to work around a homeowner who may be living in the home during the process.

Who will be assigned as project supervisor for the job?
The Lykos Group will assess your project's specific needs and assign a supervisor whose experience matches those needs.

Who will be working on the project? Are they employees or subcontractors?
The Lykos Group's supervisors are company employees and are responsible for managing any work assigned to subcontractors. The Lykos Group's subcontractors and vendors are selected for their knowledge of and experience with remodeling and renovation.

Does your company carry workers compensation and liability insurance?
The Lykos Group is fully insured and a licensed general contractor in the state of Florida. No matter whom you select to complete your remodeling project, you should verify insurance and information by call the insurance agency and verifying that your contractor holds required licenses by calling the applicable local and state agencies. May I have a list of references?
We will be happy to supply you with references from The Lykos Group customers who have completed renovation projects similar to the one you are considering.

May I have a list of business referrals or suppliers?
We will be happy to supply you with contacts from The Lykos Group suppliers and businesses with whom we have partnered to complete renovation projects similar to the one you are considering.

What percentage of your business is repeat or referral business?
More than half of new business is referred from The Lykos Group's past clients. We also have performed multiple renovation projects for many of our clients.

The Lykos Group is a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The Lykos Group also maintains memberships and its principals and team members actively participate by serving on committees and holding board of directors' positions at the following regional and state associations:
